Thesis Abstract: | |
The characterisation of ferromagnetic materials in terms of angular dispersion of the orientation of the macroscopic fields is classically accessed using magnetisation measurements. However these measurements are not able to investigate how the resulting magnetic signals are linked to the internal crystallites and microstructures of the samples since they do not probe crystal lattices. Neutron diffraction as the advantage to be able to probe complex magnetic structures [1], crystallite orientations (texture) from the nuclear diffraction [2] and magnetic texture from the magnetic diffraction peaks. It is proposed here to develop a new approach that takes into account all these scattering contributions, acquiring magnetic diffraction peaks versus sample orientations, in order to analyse the magnetic orientation distribution functions (MODF). |
