CIF SYNTAX

CIF Syntax Checking

The program VCIF has been incorporated into the WinGX package as a CIF syntax checker. It is fully compliant with version 2 of the CIF CORE DICTIONARY, e.g. data names longer than 32 characters do not raise an error message.

VCIF will report all syntax errors, and give an indication as to the cause of the problem. Some care may be required with looped items to track down the exact location of the syntax error.

NOTE This program does NOT check the validity of the data or the data types. To do this, please use the menu option CIF VALIDATE for this purpose.
