Indexing Powder Diffraction
Patterns -
Some Highly Cited Papers
From papers cited in the 1975-2000 range.
Source : ISI - Science Citation
Index - April 2001.
Selection Conditions
-
Core papers corresponding to methods (corresponding
to program names TREOR, ITO, DICVOL, etc) were examined for citation numbers
(cited at least once).
-
Papers citing these core papers (either review
papers or application papers)
cited at least 10 times, these papers being highly cited generally for
other reasons than indexing.
-
If your paper(s) escaped, send the reference to : alb@cristal.org.
-
That list is more indicative than exhaustive, and it will be false one
week later.....
-
Compared to the other previous lists (1,
2)
of most cited papers about powder diffraction, this one presents very few
studies of superconductor, fullerene, quasicrystal or nanocrystalline compounds,
for which the cell parameters are either already known or obtained by a
different method (electronic microscopy). But the list should contain most
of the ab initio SDPD papers (Structure
Determination by Powder Diffractometry), for which indexing is absolutely
a crucial step. The list contains also possibly indexed compounds with
unknown structure (in that case, the cell has to be considered cautiously)
and other papers about material characterization. See also the list
of highly cited papers about cell constrained whole pattern fitting and
structure factor extraction, and a study about special
methods in SDPD.
